Kinda reminds me of the "Sound of Thunder" short story. Awesome use of custom brushes and pacity settings.

Hey - such a great painting - I love the high technology contrast with the jungle setting.

Nice conceptual paintings- It has that old school 60's innocent exploration feel to it. Very funny that the probe looks like an olive.

Armand! I don't know why the first thing that came to mind was 'Spaceman Spiff!' from Calvin and Hobbes - maybe it's just the way the scene is constructed - but it's beautiful nonetheless. It's so very evocative. :)

Thanks guys.

Hey Mordecai,

Now that you mentioned it, it does look like a scene from Sound Of Thunder. I'm glad you mentioned the short story and not the movie version. The movie was horrible. Thanks for the comment.

Armand,

what can i say about this piece... Its mind boggling to me how you probably did this thumbnail in what five-ten minutes? If you don't mind I'll try to seek some advice... I find myself nervous when starting a foliage piece like this. I tend to draw/paint each plant individually from the concept in my head. Using this piece for example, do you sketch out your concept before thinking about getting color involved? Or do you take a flat shade of green then carve out the form using other colors? Almost like sculpting.. I tend to find myself using the additive process with things that i want to look how i "see" them, and get bogged down early in the process, which is like putting a brick wall in from of creativity. So pretty much what I'm asking is when dealing with so much information (i.e. a forest) what do you do to keep your creativity level high? How do you make the great pieces you do? Hope all is well and i am grateful for any time you can spare. Thanks buddy
