Canyon Country Fires

You all have seen on the news the fires here in Southern California. I live in Canyon Country and had a first hand experienceof some of the scary moments during this buckweed incident that started rapidly Sunday afternoon. We were not evacuated but had to stand by just in case. The first five photos were taken from my backyard Sunday night. We're looking at the Whites, Plum and Sand Canyons which are approximately only 3-4 miles away from where I live. Last two were taken yesterday. That's Saugus area near Castaic. Fortunately, it's quiet now on our front but let us all continue to hope and pray for many whose lives and properties are directly affected by this calamity.

Oh my goodness, that's very impressive, Armand. It must have been scary, especially for the kids..
In Italy we often have those kind of fires during the summer, it's very sad. I hope it will be over soon, in the meantime keep safe!!

Eeep! Way too close to home! But am very thankful you and the family are ok --will keep the rest of the families in the area in prayer, definitely. Am still waiting to hear from a friend whose family lives in the area affected...

Yow. Beautiful colors, but beauty like that we can do without. My thoughts are with you and your family. Take care and make sure you have an emergency plan, maybe a few of 'em.

Happy to hear that you guys made it out okay. We were in the same boat here in SD. Pretty scary indeed.

I can't believe that the flames got so close to you up there. I'm glad to hear you're all okay, and we'll keep you in our prayers

i didn't know you lived that close to them. i could see the fires,to the north and south of me, but it pales to what you went through.

i know most them are out now, but there are people still in need, that's why i was glad my church has opened it's doors, and is housing those that lost thier homes.

be blessed man...

peace out

Glad to read that you and your family have been ok.When those fires were happening in Florida i was hours away from having to evacuate. I remeber that strange surrealness of opening the shades and seeing your entire neighborhood pitch black witth burning embers floating about.

Stay safe----------Kev

Thank you all. Glad it's all over. Authorithies found out that the fires here was caused by a ten year old boy playing with matches. Sad.

You're right Kevin. I remember the moment when the forest conservation in Hunters Creek in Orlando burned which was probably a couple of miles away from where we lived. Ishould have taken photos of the helicopters bucketing water from a lake adjacent to 415.
