The Shark Bar

©Sony Pictures Animation.
One of the fun designs I did on a sequence that "almost" made it into the film. It's a bar for the penguin luau. This is the final design. The rough sketch can be seen on the Surf's Up book.

  4. Can I ask what you generally draw on? Have you gone and placed this in Photoshop and altered the background?

  5. Hey Armand!

I am bummed I don't get to come by and work with you guys anymore. I wish I would have had more time at SPA this year.

I wanted to keep in touch and see how you are doing. I'd love to hear from you, even though I'm sure everyone is hitting crunch time now that deadlines are approaching!

    Best wishes.

PS - I love the creativity of the sharkbar. ...And now I think I need an iPod touch!

  8. I loved this idea! It is nice to see to see the final version. It would have been awesome to see the bar lit in 3d with the blowfish hanging. So clever, the movie is one of my favorites. Looking forward to cloudy as well:)

  9. Thanks guys.

    Hey ExtraordinaryCollegeStudent,

I used prismacolor black on vellum for this one. A bit of value is added then scanned and opened it up in photoshop just to play around with lighting.
