Norseman Using ArtRage

Convinced by my friend Simon Rodgers, who's I'm sure having a great vacation as we speak in his hometown in Ireland, I finally purchased ArtRage. I'm impressed by the paint textures, the simplicity and ease of use as compared to Painter (and not to mention the price). This was a half an hour quickpaint cocktailed with a slight Photoshop. Great software.

  7. Armand! Three things: 1) Your daughter looks -adorable- in those ads you posted of her! 2) The Murmillo reminds me of the illustrations I loved as a little girl - he's definitely going somewhere with such purpose. So evocative, I love it... 3) The Norseman is -fantastic-. I -love- the texture of it, and the quick impressionist-like brushstroke effects.

I'll miss drawing in the op room too, to be honest! But I did need to get out of that job and who knows, now I might be able to sketch more children during their choir practice...and I might be able to find some other op room shots to practice on in the meantime. I don't think my patient could identify himself in that shot...he's on the elderly side and definitely not into blogs, and I don't think there was enough of his face to do it with. Concert next week! Going to be so busy...oh, and that drawing Marcos gave you made me laugh so hard it made my DAY. Thanks for sharing it!

  13. Hey David,

    Thanks for the comment.

Actually, I did come by the studio a couple of months ago and I apologize for not giving you a heads up. I remember it was a crazy week for me and forgot to mention it to you. Again, sorry. Anyway, I had lunch with the Rapunzel team of Doug Rodgers, Dave Goetz and Roy Conli. The next time I visit, I let you know for sure. Take care.
