A Temple Moment

©Armand Serrano/Redeemer Films.
Another development art for my project. This is just a portion of a much bigger piece. A compilation of all the artworks for this project is already in the works. The book will be complete with my notes, research and a simplified storyline. Keep you posted.

  4. Gorgeous! It...really puts into perpsective how big those sons of Anak were. That guy looks -massive-. Like a rock. In fact at first I thought he -WAS- a rock. Is this an ink and digital piece by the way? I love the look...

  26. Wow, what a bunch of powerful designs. I love the long stretched feel of your characters and backgrounds. Very filmic (is that a word?)
You don't happen to know Rebecca Kuska at Sony, do you?

  31. Armand,

You have done some great work!!!!!!!

    I am from Athens, Greece.
Parallel to my product design (check out our website:www.vastdesign.gr), my interests also lie in drawing and painting and at the same time, since college, I have an extremely soft spot for imaginative worlds, alternate reallities, stories e.t.c.

However, since there is no entertainment industry here in Greece, that I can
work for, I do not know how to proceed.
I have had thoughts of developing stories, illustrating them and then
getting my art in galleries. Another thought was to publish my illustrated
stories (not in comic book form) in books, layed out and designed by myself.

I have seen your work as well as Christian Schellewald's and Luc
Desmarchelier's work as well as the work in the book 'In the future...'
which shows Art Center entertainment design work, and I can honestly say
that that kind of 'visual development' art is what interests me the most.

    Any thoughts?

Again, thank you for all your time.

  32. Hi Stathis,

Well, first of all, thank you for your comments and for visiting my blog. To answer your question, you might have to consider two things: what you really want to do which you are passionate about and the cost of your choice. For example, on a gallery, you're dependent on the sales of your artwork. For publishing your book, you have to work it out with a publisher or you can publish it yourself and has to shelve out a good amount of money. Plus you have to find a distributor of your book. If you want to go for animation, you may want to relocate and check out studios in France, Spain or Germany to get your foot into the business. But count the cost first before making the decision. I know a passion is a passion but determine also how it works in real life. Hope this helps and all the best.

  33. Mandy,
I love this!! Splendidly original! I have to admit the illustrations for the projects you had shared with me are somewhat giving me some curious excitement to be a part of its final production and execution... As well as inspiring me to write on several themes invoked by your powerfully expressive images! Thanks for the inspiration- perhaps I can write for you one day, if He wills. : )

    Keep marching on!
